The Hiwassee College Estes Kefauver Scholars Program is auctioning these fun and unique items to raise money for scholarships.
Proceeds from the Kefauver Gala each year benefit The Estes Kefauver Scholars Program at Hiwassee College. Named for United States Senator and Madisonville, TN native Estes Kefauver, The Kefauver Scholars Program is designed to provide scholarships to promising students with an interest in public service. The Kefauver Scholarship is given to an outstanding high school student chosen from the State of Tennessee and provides full tuition, room and board during the student's enrollment at Hiwassee. Kefauver once stated, "Education is an investment in citizenship and is, as I see it, the surest guarantee that democracy will survive." Your help is needed to maintain the legacy of one of America's great statesmen. You can play a part in making sure his dreams for all citizens are continued.
The online portion of the auction will conclude on September 22 at 10:00 am eastern Time. These items, with their respective bids, will carry over to the live silent auction at the Kefauver Gala at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, TN on September 23 at 7:00 PM. Online bidders who can't make the live event have the opportunity to participate through "absentee bidding." Absentee bidding is a process through which a bidder may set a maximum price for an item online and a volunteer proxy will bid for items on their behalf at the live event.

Meet Kefauver Scholar Loren Cherry
Loren Cherry of Loudon, TN is a current student and recipient of the Estes Kefauver Scholarship at Hiwassee College. Loren is a 2008 graduate of Sequoyah High School where he played varsity basketball and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a member of Future Leaders.
At Hiwassee, Loren is a member of the Christian Student Movement and plays basketball. "I just love the campus at Hiwassee," says Loren. "It's just beautiful here and I like the fact that there's a church right on campus." A senior, Loren will earn his B.A. in Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts and looks forward to putting his Hiwassee experience to use in the real world.
