Item Description

On June 2, spend the evening celebrating Philip Glass, one of America’s best-known living composers, whose career spans more than four decades and includes chamber music, symphonies, operas, concerti, film scores, and music for dance.  Begin the night at the Dock Street Theatre where the Festival’s Resident Conductor John Kennedy will moderate an intimate discussion with the legendary composer during Conversations with Philip Glass. Afterward, enjoy  an 8pm performance of Glass’s new opera, Kepler which will have its American premiere at the Festival. The opera captures the majestic sound of the cosmos as Glass explores the visionary dreams and prosaic nightmares of astronomer and mathematician Johannes Kepler. To commemorate the evening, you will receive Philip Glass’s unique box set, entitled Glass Box,a 10-disc retrospective of compositions from his groundbreaking career. Glass Box will be signed and includes a 191-page booklet with a note from the composer, archival photos, libretti, texts, and several appreciations by longtime colleagues and admirers of Glass’s music.

Item Special Note

Package includes one box set and two (2) tickets to Conversations with Philip Glass and Kepler. Winning bidder will receive signed box set on the day of the concert. Valid June 2, 2012 only.
