About Robofun:
Laura Hart is the CEO and Founder of Robofun. While at the Harvard Graduate School of Education she collaborated with Dr. Seymour Papert, who founded the Artificial Intelligence Lab at MIT. It was from this work that she decided to form Robofun. The vision was to create a place where children will get hands-on experience with STEAM in a creative and nurturing way. Laura and the Robofun team believe that children learn best by building and making, and by having exciting materials and tools with which to work. This philosophy is called constructivism. We believe children learn best when they are having fun and create personally meaningful projects.
Our teachers create an environment that allows students to progress at their own pace, encourages collaboration and teamwork, and helps children love to learn. We focus on developing confidence, grit, and the desire and ability to solve problems. Your child will learn about robotics, coding, animation, and creative thinking as well as build and make simple circuitry projects and work in Minecraft. Our workshops allow children to become makers and designers. Concurrent with the activities at the Robofun studio, Robofun's parent company, Vision Education & Media, runs programs for students and teachers in over 100 schools in the New York City area.
