Item Description

This handwritten piano/vocal score from the original production of Merrily We Roll Along is signed by Jim Walton, the show's first Franklin Shepard, and Tony Award winner Daniel Radcliffe, who won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Charley in the Broadway revival.

This original piano/vocal score for the song "Good Thing Going," performed by Charley in the show, was handwritten by a copyist.

George Furth and Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along tells the story of how a composer's idealism and friendships were corrupted by success. It's told backwards, starting with the disillusioned present and ending with their optimistic college years.

The original production opened November 16, 1981 at the Alvin Theatre (now the Neil Simon Theatre). The revival opened at the Hudson Theatre on October 10, 2023, and extended its limited run through July 7, 2024.
