Scoutlier Event

Online STEM Teaching Skill Development using FIRST® Lessons for STEM and Robotics Teachers Contact us for dates kathryn.eller@ebecri.org

The East Bay Educational Collaborative is excited to offer online STEM skill development and robotics activities for teachers to use during remote and hybrid STEM instruction. This virtual professional development introduces the FIRST® @ Home STEM curriculum on Scoutlier for $100/teacher.

Scoutlier is a free digital lesson design and delivery app that scaffolds student learning anywhere, enables students to document learning in multiple modes (text, video, data, etc.), and can be used with any device. Each FIRST® @ Home activity features a specific skill area and topic for students to learn and practice the engineering design process. Each activity can be done individually or with a group, can be used as a stand-alone lesson, or bundled together as a series, all designed to deepen STEM learning.

  • The first half of the workshop will be a tutorial on how to access and use the FIRST® @ Home activities.
  • In the second half, we will discuss strategies on how to use Scoutlier to support both remote and hybrid FIRST® robotics activities and other similar learning experiences.
