Item Description
Lonchocarpus mexicanus from the Naples Botanical Garden
This species is a great flowering shrub-tree for a dooryard or small property. The shrub will grow to about 12 feet tall, and blooms in the Spring with rich violet-purple clusters of small flowers that resemble sweet peas. The branches are semi-pendant and bear the inflorescences on the branch ends. Perfect for a sunny dry spot in the garden, the species will grow quickly and bloom about 3 years after planting this seedling.
