Item Description
Women's Education: Women's Empowerment Set - buttons (10) and bookmarks (25)
How are our children --girls and boys alike --going to understand the importance of women to American culture and history if their education includes little or nothing about the significance of women's contributions?
It wasn't until 1977 and the enactment of Title IX of the Higher Education Act Amendments that gender discrimination was prohibited. Title IX has become the major tool for women's fuller participation not only in sports but in most aspects of education.
Unfortunately, Title IX does not cover curriculum which is why the stories of women's historic achievements were a late addition to our children's education.
