Someone asked me “What do you want”…and I didn’t know. I knew deep down inside but on the surface I couldn’t put this into words. I had to go deep…through all the layers of crud… my beliefs, my mantras, all the should’ve, would’ve , could’ve needed to be cleared and I started to see “me”. My art expresses this me that I am.
I do believe that this creative expression has helped me to become a fuller, happier and more contributing human being… this is what I find the most important point of life.
Creating art is a process that dives deep into your being. I start with a lovely blank canvas. There lies deep within, a symbol of all the new opportunities, possibilities and adventure. To be able to go past the blank canvas is going past the fear of the unknown. It is ok not to know.
I grab colors that inspire me for that day and make lots of marks in many different ways. I feel what I am feeling and become more with each mark. At some point…something appears. I bring this out in various ways and then I might see something else. No two paintings are alike…none are done the same way. I love what I do with my art and I hope you enjoy it too!
