Ellen Carey is an internationally recognized contemporary photographic artist. Since 1978, her work has been included in forty-seven solo exhibitions, and hundreds of group exhibitions. Carey’s work is in the permanent collections of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian, Whitney Museum, and other public, corporate and private collections. Carey received her M.F.A. from the University at Buffalo in 1978. She is Associate Professor of Photography at the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford and works at the Polaroid 20x24 Studio in New York.
