Item Description
Internationally recognized quilt artist and teacher, Marcia Eygabroat offers her original architectural quilt, HISTORIC PERSPECTIVE. As you peer over the picket fence, up the stone steps and onto the porch, marvel at the exquisite minute details and the way light and shadow play across the piece. In effect, Marcia paints with dabs of fabric. Each leaf, blossom, stone, and architectural element has been snipped from bits of fabric and puzzle pieced with intricate free motion machine stitching. Rows upon rows of closely placed straight stitching add texture and lines of perspective that guide your eye out through the borders where more quilted drama awaits. Stitching around trees and picket fence posts does not obey the borders, but reaches out for attention. Marcia has chosen a rich color palette that includes shades of burgundy, pink, aqua, beige, green and brown. Metallic threads give a sparkle of light to the porch light and windowpanes. Bid high for a magnificent heirloom quality piece of art! The work is documented on a label stitched to the green, blue and brown print back of the quilt. A bracket has been attached for displaying on a wall. Dimensions: 31 x 41 inches. Marcias works have been shown and won awards at such shows as the AQS Quilt Exhibition, Houston International Quilt Festival, and Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center, among others.
