Item Description
Mihail Chemiakin offers his piece entitled, Cavalier sur Son Cheval Rouge, (roughly translated to Its Rider on a Red Horse), featuring a soldier riding away on horseback from an enemy. This piece is a lithograph in color on wove paper that measures 19.25 inches by 18.75 inches and is mounted in a gold wood-grained frame. The picture also includes a copy of a certificate of authenticity signed by Albert Scaglione, the Director for Park West Gallery based in Southfield, MI.
Milhail Chemiakin was born in Moscow in 1943. He studied art at the famous Repin Art Academy. His incredible talent and insatiable hunger for innovativeness led him to challenge the establishment. In 1971, Chemiakin left the Soviet Union and settled in Paris where his unique imagery was already familiar to European collectors. It was in Paris that he produced his Carnival at St. Petersberg and his Metaphysical Series, which are among his most renowned periods, proving a mastery of color and form. In 1980, Chemiakin moved to New York where he presently resides and continues his work. Today, his work is featured in all of the major cultural centers of the world.
