Item Description
Bid on these beautiful handmade earrings featuring Argentium Silver and Copper by artist and designer Rinku Ghosh.
Rinku has thought of every detail with these exquiste earrings - wear them as a stud or a drop.
Mokume-Gane is an old Japanese technique of combining different metal sheets. In a controlled heat and pressure environment different metal sheets fuse together but do not completely melt. The result is a block of metal that appears to have stripes.
It is then hand-cut to produce desired patterns, although nowadays computer software is often used to guide the curve of the desired patterns. After the patterns have been cut, the metal block is hammered, forged, and rolled to reduce its thickness.
Finally, it is time for the most fun part..shaping the metal into art!
If you love these earrings check out more on her website. PS there is a matching necklace!
