Phil Gruppuso is a life-long woodworker. Upon his semi-retirement in 2013, he started a business, Seekonk Woodworking, that brought his avocation to a new level. Gruppuso works in a variety of styles and projects range from small items to large furniture commissions. His influences are broad, ranging from traditional Shaker furniture to Art Deco to Contemporary studio woodworking designs.
"Sliding Top Jewelry Box" is made of white oak. It features a book-matched curly oak top. Tiny magnets reference the sliding top so, when closed, it "snaps" into place. The piece is finished in shellac and wax.
