History lovers or anyone with high regard for our nation's storied tradition should be sure to check out this chrome click ballpoint pen made from the real wood originally from Buffalo Bill's Scout's Rest Ranch at North Platte, NE.
History Salvaged, LLC has acquired a small quantity of Witness Wood® from the home of famed showman William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody. The Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park at North Platte. NE recaptures the life and career of the famed Pony Express rider, Army scout & buffalo hunter-turned-showman. Since it became a state historical park in 1965, the house and barn have been restored and History Salvaged is honored to have been able to acquire some barn wood from Buffalo Bill’s Scout’s Rest Ranch.
“Buffalo Bill” was born Feb. 26, 1846, in Iowa. A Pony Express rider he later served in the Union Army during the Civil War and following the war
Cody earned his nickname “Buffalo Bill” while supplying buffalo meat for the Kansas Pacific Railway. In the mid-1880s, Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show was in full swing the success of the show enabled Cody to build “The Mansion on the Prairie,” as the locals called it. It was Buffalo Bill’s home from 1886 to 1913 & the barn was built in 1887 to house Cody’s ranch horses & stallions.
