This French Louis XV style Art Nouveau period fauteuil is an exquisite example of the elegance and technical quality of Art Nouveau cabinetmaking. Art Nouveau woodworks were characterized by their innovative designs, organic forms, and emphasis on nature. Craftsmen during this period sought to break away from the rigid styles of the past and embraced a more expressive and decorative approach that can be observed in the piece presented to the auction.
What makes this model truly unique, in addition to its authenticity, is that it conceals a cleverly hidden secret: beneath the green leather seat, you will find nothing else than... a pot! Unfortunately, the pot was broken and reglued, but with its colors, it keeps reminding the beauty of Chinese porcelain, perfect for an elegant relief!
