Description

Spend a glorious night under the stars with two reserved seats to Shakespeare in the Park?s Hamlet at the fabled Delacorte Theatre in New York's Central Park followed by an exclusive meet and greet with John Douglas Thompson, who portrays Claudius.

Returning once again to Free Shakespeare in the Park, director Kenny Leon (Tony Award-winner for A Raisin in the Sun) commands The Delacorte stage with a nine-week, tour-de-force production of the Bard?s masterpiece, Hamlet, a contemporary present-day take on Shakespeare?s classic tale of family and betrayal, as enduring as the stars above Central Park. Actor Ato Blankson-Wood, a Tony Award nominee for Slave Play, stars as the titular prince.

John Douglas Thompson, a Tony Award-nominee for Jitney, is an Irish Repertory Theatre Company Member who most recently starred in our sold-out production of Endgame. For his portrayal of Hamm, he was nominated for a Distinguished Performance Award by the Drama League Awards, Outstanding Lead Performance in a Play by the Drama Desk Awards, an Outstanding Lead Performer in a Play by the Lucille Lortel Awards.

Shakespeare in the Park tickets are valid for any performance excluding galas, opening nights or partner events, subject to availability. Tickets must be booked at least three weeks prior to the performance you wish to attend, with three date options within that time frame.

Hamlet will be performed June 8 through August 7, 2023.
