Amir Farid, winner of the 2006 Australian National Piano Award, is a US born Iranian-Australian who resides in both New York City and Melbourne, Australia. The performance includes Schubert's Sonata in B-flat Major, D.960 as well as the US Premiere of Ice Man by Australian composer Stuart Greenbaum, which is a musical representation of the experience of Aussie adventurer James Scott who was stranded in the Himalayan mountains for 43 days and somehow survived.
Also being featured is Mozart's Adagio in B Minor, K 540 and Prokofiev Toccata in D Minor, Op. 11.
