Henry Brown was the 2016-2017 St. Andrew's Visiting Artist.
HUD_JPG_03 (2019) is a 9" x 14" photopolymer intaglio from an in-game screenshot of a 3D computer game. The landscape was created by digital rendering. The title of the piece refers to a head's up display which is the term for your user interface in first-person video games. It's a nod to the digital origin of the images.
Artist Bio:
Henry Brown is a New York City based abstract painter. His artwork has been exhibited at MoMA PS 1, Queens, NY; Anderson Gallery, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA; Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville, FL. Brown is a three-time Yaddo artist and a MacDowell fellow. He has co-curated exhibits including at Westbeth Gallery, New York, NY.
