Description
?Celebration of Fall? multimedia piece
An artful celebration
Talented multi-media artist Carole Blascoe created this stunning piece for this year?s auction. Starting with a stretched canvas, she overpainted the background and then gently layered hand-cut leaves and fronds created from patterned papers and sheet music. She added further dimension by meticulously painting some of the leaves with veining, creating a collage of color, texture and beauty. Titled Celebration of Fall, this piece is a lovely celebration of nature as well as a reminder of the circle of life, the seasons we live through, the beloved labyrinth patterns we walk and the many, multi-faceted layers we bring to our lives. Measuring 12? x 12? Carole?s eye-catching piece is sure to be a focal point on a wall or a display area with an easel.
Estimated value: $150
About the artist
Carole has always had art in her life but over twenty years ago she truly began following her passion for ?giving old things new life and making beauty with what I find.? Her pieces lean heavily into the beauty and bounty of nature and often features birds, trees and organic elements. She also draws inspiration from spending time at the lake near her home. Carole says, ?Nature speaks to me. It?s like the whole idea of the labyrinth. Being with something bigger than me and away from other things. The world is so noisy. I need time that is quiet where I can be in my own world. And I can see what happens when a person connects with a piece. I love when something I create makes someone happy.?
In keeping with giving new life to vintage and found objects, Carole has used myriad found items including paper, vintage buttons, Scrabble tiles, keys, old postage stamps, vintage lace and handkerchiefs, ribbon, napkins, sheet music, old book pages, ticket stubs, antique ads, branches, leaves and much more to create her art. She is happy to work on commissioned pieces. Carole can be reached at ceblascoe@gmail.com
