?Chapman Creek?
FINE ART PRINT ON ARCHIVAL PAPER
12? x 16?
ABOUT THIS PAINTING
Chapman Creek is a location I?ve wanted to paint for years. This particular
creek connects to the Salish Sea at Davis Bay and is thought to have been
one of the largest salmon producing streams on the Sunshine Coast prior to
European contact in the mid-1800?s. Today, local organizations are working to
help with stream enhancements by providing insight into the habitats and life
cycles of salmon and their vital role in the ecosystems that depend on them.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
As an artist living on the Sunshine Coast, I'm constantly inspired by the beauty
of our temperate rainforest as well as the incredible biodiversity of our
marine ecosystem. From tiny plankton to pink bellied salmon to massive
whales, every creature plays a vital role in this intricate web of life.
My 2024 - 2025 collection aims to capture the vibrant colors and textures of
these unique and precious ecosystems, showcasing its beauty and
highlighting its importance. I hope my art encourages you to appreciate, and
help conserve, these beautiful and delicate places.
