Item Description
One of the few remaining inns that once dotted the coast and played an important part in Maine summers, the Chebeague Island Inn has been thoughtfully restored to recapture its classic beauty and special place in the island community.
The Chebeague Island Inn has 21 intimate guest rooms with ocean or garden views. Completely restored in 2004, each room has been individually detailed by Maine artists and artisans. All offer the comfort of custom queen-sized beds with lofty down bedding and Italian hem-stitched linens. And the simple quiet of another time, free of telephones and TV.
Enjoy reading in the Great Room with its vast stone fireplace. Sip cocktails on the front porch. Play croquet, lawn bowling, horseshoes or badminton. Go lobstering or clamming with a local fisherman and have the executive chef prepare your catch. Enjoy access to a 9-hole course at the Great Chebeague Golf Club. Play tennis. Swim at the nearby sandy beach. Take leisurely walks or a hike to Deer Point. Borrow one of their L.L. Bean bicycles or fishing poles.
Dine in their 75-seat restaurant offering gourmet fine dining by Chef Justin Rowe formerly of White Barn Inn, Grissini's, On the Marsh and Portland's Fore Street and 555 Restaurants.
Located two hours from Boston, 30 minutes from the Portland International Jetport, a 15-minute ferry ride from Cousins Island, yet you will feel a world away.
The Chebeague Island Inn, with its panoramic ocean views, offers a magical, elegant, and uniquely Maine setting for your vacation pleasure.
