Item Description
This is a memoir of the former Justice Department whisleblower in the country's first post 9/11 terrorism case: that of the so-called "American Taliban," John Walker Lindh. When I discovered that my e-mails on his interrogation were missing in violation of a federal court order, I resurrected them from my computer archives, turned them over to m y boss and resigned. When the e-mails had still not made it to the court, I disclosed them to the media. Afterwards, the government got me fired from my private law firm job, placed me under criminal investigation, referred me to the state bars in which I'm licensed, and put me on the "No-Fly List." It foreshadowed what was to follow in the Bush era torture scandal, U.S. attorney scandal, and watch-listing political opponents.
