Item Description

For the red wine lover, bid on this package for a well-rounded sampler of various red wines:

  • Vines on the Marycrest - Heart of Glass 2006 Paso Robles ($9.99):  72% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 13% Syrah. Eminently approachable. Fresh strawberries, cherries and gentle rose petal on the nose. The fruit carries through to the palate with the addition of smoky, earth and leathery touches. This along with the clear bright color makes this wine the perfect partner to grilled scallops, or perhaps braised endive or radicchio. Have a glass while preparing. Silver Medal Winner ~ 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Competition
  • Weingut Markus Huber Zweigelt 2007 Austria: Ruby red. Fully ripe sour cherries on the nose. Compact on the palate. Fine tannins. Flavors of red berries and prunes echoed by minty tones.
  • Villa di Corlo Corleto Emilia (16.99):  Have you ever tried a sparkling red wine?  Now's your chance.  This naturally effervescent wine is produced with lambrusco grasparossa grapes and will unlike anything you've ever tasted!
  • Jose Maria Da Fonseca Domini Douro, 2005 ($15.99): Domini is a joint venture which brings together two wine masters, Domingos Soares Franco and Cristiano van Zeller, with the purpose to optimize excellence of Douro grapes and wines.  Enjoy the wine in good company with roast lamb and soft cheeses.  This wine is unfiltered and may throw sediment.
  • Robert Hall Syrah 2007 ($19.99): An inviting, well-balanced wine, the 2007 Syrah expresses aromas of blackberry, chocolate and caramel with a touch of smoky, sandalwood spice. The deep ruby-red color hints at the opulent fruit flavors of berry, plum and black cherry which greet the senses and are complemented by soft silky tannins.  90 Score / Editors Choice - Wine Enthusiast, Feb 2010.  GOLD MEDAL - San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 2010
  • Foris 2007 Pinot Noir (17.99):  Subtle aromas suggest darker colored fruit with tones of chocolate. Medium bodied, with subtle tannins and easy acidity. Raspberries and wild blackberries on the palate. Spice and pleasant acidity intermingle with the fruit on the long, focused finish.
