Item Description
Description of Process: The 4th graders celebrated positive self-affirmations by embellishing mirror frames. They handmade individual mosaic pieces for mirrors by using one of two methods. They could either free draw illustrations on white and black tiles or they could find illustrations and decoupage them to the back of glass pieces, creating a magnifying effect. They accented their work using vintage buttons, beads, and jewels and then determined the exact placement of each piece. They glued their self-designed pieces onto re-purposed mirrors using tile glue. The project was completed with tile grout. Voila! You won’t be able to look into these mirrors without thinking, “Look Out, World, Here I Come!”
