Item Description
Description of Process: Anne Feldhaus inspired 7th graders to use art as a form of marketing for good. Using Petfinder.com to search for homeless dogs in the Audubon zip code, she selected 19 dogs from the 5,300 dogs that came up in the 100 mile radius. Anne printed out photos/descriptions/adoption information and gave the students a dog of their own to portray artistically to the public. Students drew and painted their dog’s portrait on a 6x6 inch piece of cardboard using monochromatic hues of blue and purple. They finished by gluing a black and white name tag onto their particular dog in the painting. These 6x6 portraits were then mounted on a 24x24 wood panel painted black.
9 Lives is a perfect holiday gift for any dog lover!
