Item Description
Cynthia Britain is a founding member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and for the past decade her paintings have been inspired by the natural landscape and coastal areas of California. In the spring of 2009, Cynthia visited Appleby Faire in England where the gypsies (or Romany as they call themselves) have gathered for the last three hundred years. Fascinated by these colorful people, with their caravans, horses, music and dancing, Cynthia brought their spirit to her Artful “Gypsy Violin.”
Cynthia’s work has appeared in more than 30 exhibitions from California to Arizona, Colorado and Hawaii. Her many awards include the Silver Medal Award at the Plein Air Competition in Carmel California in 1997 and the Gold Medal Award from the San Diego Museum of Art, Juried Exhibition in 2000. Her art can be seen at the Esther Wells Gallery in Laguna Beach.
Cynthia’s violin will be displayed at Dawson Cole Fine Art, 326 Glenneyre St., Laguna Beach
