Item Description
7 Floral Prints by Arnold Iger. 1978-79. 16 by 20 inches.
Born in New York in 1949, Arnold Iger is a contemporary artist, draftsman, filmmaker. Despite his urban surroundings as a child (or maybe because of them), he gravitates to images of the natural world. It’s his etchings of exotic and everyday flowers that are the most arresting—simply and graphically rendered images that capture the beauty of the object and the vibrancy of their color and form. His timeless etchings of orchids and other more frequently seen flowers incorporate the tradition of floral journals from centuries past. Iger studied extensively in Japan, and his depictions of flowers reflect the subtlety and simplicity characteristic of Japanese art.
