Item Description
As described by 5th graders, William Grumley and Matthew Hamrick:
"Does your house feel like it’s missing something and no matter what you put in it, it doesn’t fit the style of the room? Well, worry no more because this painting, San-Sui Hua, promises to match rooms of any size or style. The title translates “Mountain Water Painting,” and that is exactly what it is. It is a painting of a peaceful mountain with a river flowing through it. It was painted by an Advent grandmother, Ms. Tina Soong. She is the grandmother of one of the authors of this description. She created this landscape with brush pens, an ink stick, and an ink stone on rice paper imported from China. Bid on this marvelous painting today."
"When I grew up in China, different teachers taught me brush painting. Although basic painting techniques are similar, each teacher had his or her own unique style. In my paintings, I combine some of the different styles from the teachers. My landscapes may look different from one another but they still can be considered traditional." Ms. Tina Soong
