This auction is for all things Recreation!  Recreation Camp that is!  Enjoy 2 weeks of camp at Cross Island YMCA's very own Summer Day Camp!  Cross Island YMCA is the place to be this summer!  Kids and parents alike are excited to come back year after year for a great camp experience!  Don't pass up this oppertunity to send someone special to camp this summer!

The Cross Island YMCA summer day camp provides youth with supervised activities that teach core values, conflict resolution and leadership skills. Kids have fun while making new friends, developing new skills, learning core values, building self-confidence, appreciating teamwork and growing in selfreliance.

For kids, Y camps is a fun and happy place to enjoy the summer. YMCA Day Camp gives children the opportunity to play games, create arts and crafts, explore science and technology, swim, participate in field trips, appreciate nature and discover and value our many cultures. The Cross Island YMCA is licensed by the New York City Department of Health and accredited by the American Camping Association.

More About RECREATIONAL CAMPS:
Recreational Camp are for Ages 6 - 12 or Teen Recreational Camp for ages 13-15.

You will have your choice of Sessions during the 2012 summer.  Recreational Camp is split into age groups. 

All Units participate in the following activities: Morning Assembly • Arts & Crafts • Swimming • Academic Enhancement • Trips • Lunch • Character Development • Sports & Games.

More about Academic Enhancement:
To provide high quality summer learning, at least twice a week campers are engaged in a reading assignment. This is done in group and/or on their own. Books that are chosen are also related to the theme to ensure that we are offering a comprehensive learning experience for everyone. 

About Teen Camp:
At the Cross Island YMCA, we recognize that teenagers have a variety of changing interests. This awareness provides the foundation for our approach to the 2011 camping experience for young adults. Teen Camp will have three major components: sports and recreation,  camping experience for young adults. Teen Camp will have three major components: sports and recreation, visual and performing arts, and leadership training. All activities, trips, and additional programming will be an outgrowth of these three components.
