$50 Gift Certificate for Fresh Roasted Coffee from Café Aquí.

Two rockers so nuts about  coffee that we have to roast it ourselves...

Fine fresh roasted coffee from around the world.  Café Aquí is a micro roastery.  We roast small in batches a variety of arabica coffees from around the world.  Some of our coffee is organic. 1 lb. of coffee costs between $8 to $11.

Coffees from:  Uganda Organic, Kenya AAA, Ethiopia, Sumatra, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, Brasil.  All roasts.  Blends, custom blends.

Like Cafe Aqui on Facebook to learn about tastings and cuppings.

I remember my dad and his coffee rituals.  He had a grinder and french press– I can still remember standing on a chair and leaning on the plunger with all my weight– and before that the classic percolator with the little site glass at the top for watching the percolator percolate.   But my own relationship with coffee started in December of 1994 on a journey to Lake Atitlan in Guatemala.  It was there that I first saw coffee growing.   A few weeks into 1995 I would fall off a cliff and compound fracture my femur, and have to crawl (I was alone) all night down the side of San Pedro volcano; in the darkness I chewed on raw coffee cherries (true!).  But that is a story for another time.  Fast forward to 2005: I return to Guatemala to celebrate my life transforming-fall, meet the woman I would marry and have child with, and discover coffee roasting at a little place in Panajachel called Crossroads Cafe.  Michael Roberts and his beautiful family taught me how to roast coffee and buy coffee in the mountains coffee growing regions in Northern Guatemala, Tajamulco, near the border of Mexico and the state of Chiapas.  Since that time, I have continued roasting and studying coffee, working for a time with Mané Alves as the roaster at his Vermont Artisan Coffee and Tea Co. and Coffee Lab.

All these experiences have shaped the concept and philosophy of Café Aquí.  We want to provide people with the freshest coffee possible.
