Item Description
Pit firing is the oldest known method for firing pottery. Unfired pots are nestled together in a pit and covered with materials such as wood shavings, leaves, metal oxides, and sawdust. After firing and cooling, pots are removed to reveal patterns and colors left by ash, oxides, and salt deposits.
This gorgeous, unique pot is 8" tall and was created by Jane Brodwyn.
