Item Description

Donald Campbell Hardman's dry point, "Last Light" is the sixteenth in the series of limited edition gift prints presented by the Honolulu Print Makers to Assoiciate Members in 1948.   Though born in Chicago, Hardman spent time studying at the Glasgow Art Institute.  Returning to America, he was enrolled for a time at the Chicago Art Institute before going to Brazil, Tahiti and finally to Hawaii in 1940.  In 1944 he was featured in the book "Watercolors of Tahiti" published by the Honolulu Academy of Arts.  He has had several exhibitions at the Academy and his work is represented in many private collections and museums on the mainland. Though popularly known as a water colorist, Hardman has brought to the art of etching the same brilliant technique which characterizes his paintings-beauty of drawing and simplicity of organization.

This image was signed and titled by Hardman in pencil.  It was published by Honolulu Print Makers with full margins and is unframed. Paper size is approximately 9-1/2 x 12-3/4 in
