Item Description
This type of kimono is typically worn at weddings and formal receptions. This exceptional one is made of 100% silk crepe, including the lining and has two "Maru ni Tsuta" kamons (family crests) printed on it. The color is a light sage green fading into gray with yuzen dyed pictures representing bamboo, plum blossoms and pine. These three together often signify good luck and happiness. It has a mauve and gold removeable collar called a kake-eri. This is a rare example of skillful hand craftsmanship with absolutely striking details in traditional Japanese Tomesode style from the middle of the 20th century.
Today, kimonos of this quality are often displayed on a wall and make a perfect centerpiece for your living room or entry way.
