Item Description

Watercolor, 24" x 27"

Toni enjoys working directly from her subjects.  In the case of White Peonies, Toni happened to be sitting on afternoon, and noticed a gorgeous bouquet of white peonies in a silver vase on a near by table.  Toni immediately pulled out her watercolor painting supplies and captured the scene.  The white of the flowers was a beautiful contrast with the deep blue and lavender shadows.

Toni Petersen is a graduate of Pratt Institute and a retired director of the Art & Architecture Thesaurus Project of the J. Paul Getty Trust. She is an award winning artist and exhibits frequently in MA and RI, especially at the RI Watercolor Society and the Newport Art Museum.
