Item Description
One Tree Marsh is an oil painting done in the tradition of the Tonalist Movement of the late 1800s. Tonalism was a distinctive style of low-toned atmospheric landscape painting. In this work, the painting's main focal point is the billowing clouds that hang over the horizon. The quiet activity in the sky draws the viewer into the artwork, allowing the observer to settle over the quiet hazy marsh of late summer. One small tree pierces the horizon line, providing interest and a subtle resting point. This painting is custom mounted in an exquisite brushed-gold wood frame that picks up the delicate golds in the landscape.
It is protected with a low gloss Damar varnish, in the tradition of the old Masters.
The image size is 10" X 14", framed size measures 14 1/2" X 18 1/2".
One Tree Marsh has been featured in many group shows and two solo exhibits. It is custom framed in a high quality gold-brushed frame, indicitive of paintings from the late 1800s.
