Item Description
Titled "Flow," this is an abstract art piece and a photo album of the students creating it. The class experienced a little bit of what children do best when they are concentrated. They held the brushes and paint and involved themselves in throwing the paint on the canvas so that it splattered in unpredictable ways. The rest of the world just kind of disappeared while they held that brush. The line of students slowed down, time slowed down and for a moment their sense of "I" disappeared.
It is an abstract that follows Jackson Pollock's techniques. As Pollock is quoted: "Abstract painting is abstract. It confronts you. There was a reviewer a while back who wrote that my pictures didn't have any beginning or any end. He didn't mean it as a compliment, but it was."
We hope you enjoy. The process had no beginning or end.
--Ms. Reeves 1st Grade Class
The students names are around the edge of the canvas. Measures approximately 24"x24".
