Item Description
Enjoy an evening of hidden identities and amorous intrigues with two tickets to the Sarasota Opera's performance of Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, Jr.!
Tickets may be used for either the Tuesday, November 5, 2013 or the Thursday, November 7, 2013 performance.
In Die Fledermaus, an elaborate scheme is hatched to expose the womanizing ways of the wealthy Eisenstein as he attempts to enjoy a night of frivolity at an elaborate Viennese ball before going to jail. Hidden identities and amorous intrigues mixed with a splash of mistaken identity make for a night of delight in this whimsical operetta where champagne is king! Die Fledermaus, an operetta in three acts, will be performed in English.
Sarasota Opera, now in its 53rd season, has been under the artistic leadership of Maestro Victor DeRenzi since 1983. Maestro DeRenzi's artistic vision has garnered the company international attention as a place to experience rarely performed operatic works.
Sarasota Opera owns and performs in the historic Sarasota Opera House, which recently underwent a $20 million dollar historic renovation and restoration. The project was designed to restore the historic 1926 theater to its original glory, while creating a venue for opera for the 21st century. The Sarasota Opera House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
