Item Description
Camp out in comfortable tent cabins beside the Yuba River at night. Explore beautiful mountain meadow and passes by day. Dine in a rustic field station dining room. All while learning about bird song, natural sounds and the art and science of recording them.
The Nature Sounds Society (NSS) presents the Twenty-Ninth Annual Field Recording Workshop June 21-23, 2013 at San Francisco State University's Yuba Pass Field Station in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Each year, this workshop brings together dynamic speakers and trip leaders with participants interested in learning various aspects of nature sound recording and the use of nature sounds in art, science, and music. This year's featured speakers will be Lang Elliott and Marie Read. Elliott and Read have published Music of the Birds Volume 1: A Multimedia Celebration of Nature. This amazing Apple iPad experience features high definition video portraits of 20 North American birds with high-quality live sync sound. They will show us how it was made. Other presenters include sound designer and inventor Dan Dugan.
