Item Description
Untitled, 2011 Gouache on paper 14 x 11 Mary Conrads work is about identity, its context and the role of narrative in the shaping of the personal and social understanding of both. She was selected to participate in the 20th Anniversary Show of the Luggage Store Gallery and has had a recent solo show at Michael Rosenthal Gallery, Valencia Street, San Francisco. She has work in many collections, including two major pieces at the Twitter offices on Folsom Street. She was educated as an architect at Harvard University (GSD) and Columbia University (GSAPP, March) and was on the board of Southern Exposure. This piece is a study for ongoing research into social infrastructure and individual identity using vernacular materials, such as packaging, traffic cones, plastic sheeting and detritus. She lives and works in San Francisco. www.maryconrad.org
