Item Description
Slowburn (2002) 40x26 Rodney Ewing is a working artist in San Francisco. He has been a resident of the bay area for the last 18 years, relocating after completing his undergraduate degree in printmaking at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and a Masters degree at West Virginia University. As an artist, his drawings, installations, and mixed media works focus on his need to intersect body and place, memory and fact, and to re-examine human histories, cultural conditions, and events. Rodneys solo exhibitions include Ritual of Water (IcTus Gallery, January 2013); Rodney Ewing: Keep in a Cool, Dry Place (Pacific Felt Factory Lofts #107, 2010); and, Public Safety (Frey Norris Gallery, 2008). He is a Bay Area Now 5 Semi-Finalist and is the recipient of awards from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (2008), San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (2005, 2008) and an SECA Semi-Finalist. www.rodneyewing.wordpress.com
