Item Description
Round up a book club friend and join local author A. L. "Sandy" Sanderson on Monday, April 14th, 2014 from 7-9pm for a special book club experience!
Hosted by FEPS Board member, Anne Byrne, this one-time-only book club is for ten (10) people. An autographed copy of the romance novel, "The Last Dance", is included when you purchase this item (retail value $21.50 per book). This is a unique opportunity to join Sandy in discussing her book as well as the writing process and her fascinating story of becoming a first-time published author at the age of 77.
Refreshments and appetizers and sweets will also be served.
"In The Last Dance, which begins 75 years after The Great Hinckley Fire of 1894 and the ending of Sandy’s popular debut novel Timber; Fire in the Pines, we meet the descendents of Thor Nilsson and Sarah Stewart. They now work the land where the magnificent white pine timber once stood.Kate Amundson and Jonathon Nilsson lived on neighboring farms when they were young. Just before the Amundsons move yet again, this time back to the city, something happens between them that alters the course of both of their lives.
They try to hide the painful episode—even from themselves, but for very different reasons; Jonathan, for the self-loathing he feels because he believes he betrayed her trust, and Kate because of the guilt and shame she carries with her.
Twenty years later, circumstances force Kate to return to Pine Crescent and become involved with the Nilssons once again. They try to ignore what happened so long ago, and to behave merely as former neighbors and friends. But the attraction they felt when they were young still simmers inside of them and it explodes once more, as it did on a Fourth of July night which now seems like a lifetime ago."
