Item Description
Hand knit from 100% wool worsted weight yarns. The hat is reversible. The mittens are “felted” for added thickness and warmth.
Mitten pattern: Felted Fisherman’s Mittens by Purple Fleece, Stockton Springs, Maine. The design is based on a historic pair of mittens at the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport, Maine. The originals were worn by a smelt fisherman from Winterport, Maine, a town on the Penobscot River, in 1938.
Hat pattern: Botanic Hat by Stephen West, “inspired by the simplicity of a wooden pavilion roof at the Chicago Botanic Gardens.”
Scarf pattern: Knitter’s inspiration!
Yarns: Cascade 220 Paints and Cascade Eco+
