Item Description
In the Native American cultures of the Pacific Northwest, the orca or killer whales are thought to be humans that have drowned and become whales. Other stories talk about orca being the guardians of the oceans, with seals and dolphins as his helpers. This pendant of a stylized orca captures this animal in a style inspired by Haida art. The pendant as shown is roughly 45 mm in diameter and made from layers of high quality birch and rosewood veneer, laser cut and inlaid by hand then finished in satin polyurethane on a solid silver 18" chain. The design is such that one side is rosewood with birch inlay features and the other side birch with rosewood inlay features.
