Item Description
Spend 6 nights and 7 days in this quaint Alaskan cabin perched on a blufftop overlooking Alaska's famed Kenai Peninsula, with spectacular views of Cook Inlet and glacier-carved mountains! While you're there, charter your own fishing boat for your catch of local salmon and halibut, hop on a daytime coastal cruise, visit art galleries and small villages, or view wildlife in a nearby national park or wildlife refuge.
The cabin accommodates six guests and includes one bedroom with a queen bed, plus one loft with four twin beds. It's fully-furnished with satellite TV and all standard amenities on nearly three acres of land located two miles north of the small Alaskan village of Anchor Point - North America's most westerly highway point. The city of Homer is 25 miles to the south, and Anchorage is 200 miles north. The caretakers live in an apartment on the property and are happy to help you plan your itinerary (and fill you in on some local secrets!).
Kenai Fjords National Park is just 150 miles away via the Seward Highway, a National Scenic Byway with stunning views of Turnagain Arm, Kenai Lake, tidewater glaciers, wetlands, and rugged mountains. Surrounded by steep mountain walls, the Kenai Fjords provides the perfect habitat for Stellar seal lions, sea otters, resident pods of orca (killer whales), mountain goats, bald eagles, and a variety of seabirds. Take a boat tour or kayak in a remote fjord surrounded by pristine scenery and abundant wildlife. Hike to the top of the Harding Icefield Trail or take a scenic overflight of the largest ice field in the U.S. Get close enough to hear the cracks and groans of an active glacier as it slowly sculpts the landscape.
Closer to home, the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is Alaska's most visited refuge and features opportunities for wildlife viewing, canoeing, hiking, photography, and scenic driving.
And, you'll discover the Last Frontier in style. In addition to the cabin, this package features the following Patagonia items: Women's Fjord Flannel Shirt, Men's Buckshot Flannel Shirt, Women's Pine Mountain Wrap, and two Trucker Hats.
Item Special Note
Total value for this package is $2,935, including $2,500 for the cabin and $435 for the Patagonia clothing. Donation is valid between April 12, 2014 - October 1, 2015. Reservations must be secured 3 months in advance.
