Item Description
"Modstandskampens Børn" (Children of the resistance) authored and signed by Andreas Fugl Thøgersen.
"Modstandskampens Børn" tells the dramatic story of a number of families and is tied together by the voices of two generations. The book is about nine brave young men and women in 1940: They went to war - and paid the price. Eight of them were taken by the Germans and deported to prisons of concentration camps. One managed to escape to Sweden.
But the book is also about their children - nine other men and women - who grew up in the shadow of the war and paid another price. These were children who - even though their parents were heroes - were so traumatized by the fight and the time in German prison, that it was only on the surface that they functioned as normal people, fathers and mothers.
