Julia Kagan will provide one hour of coaching via Skype on how to build and expand your online and in print freelance writing career. You will learn how to pitch your stories to the right editors, what to charge, and how to get repeat assignments. She will also work with you to help frame one pitch.
Julia Kagan is the personal finance editor of the website Investopedia. A longtime magazine professional, she was editorial director of Consumers Union, editor of Consumer Reports and Psychology Today, national editor-in-chief of Back Stage and vice president, content for Zagat. She also held senior editorial jobs at Ladies' Home Journal, Working Woman, Fitness, Child and McCall's. As a magazine consultant, she founded Target the Family magazine for the Target Stores, and was editor of LamazeParents magazine and founder of its line extension, LamazeBaby. In 2012, she received an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Bennington College.
