Item Description
Join Larry Mantle, KPCC’s popular AirTalk host for a special screening of Chinatown at the Crawford Family Forum.
A neo-noir mystery film that’s frequently listed as among the best in world cinema, Chinatown, directed by Roman Polanski, and starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway, was selected by the Library of Congress in 1991 for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. It was nominated for 11 Academy Awards in 1975, with Robert Towne winning the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
Larry says, "I’m often asked which movie is my all-time favorite. It’s impossible for me to pick just one, but the one I always seem to mention first is 1974's Chinatown. I love this film and hope you'll bid to join me for this special screening at our Crawford Family Forum. We'll eat together and socialize before the movie. I'll also lead a post-screening conversation focusing on the themes of "Chinatown" and the LA era it depicts.”
