Item Description

Wine 6 Pack (Quartet of Pinots, a Syrah, and a Zinfandel)

2012 Hill Wine Company Pinot Noir

Hill Wine Company 2012 Black Dog Series Pinot Noir (Napa Valley) Tasting Notes Light cherry and pomegranate nose with Sandalwood, white pepper and cardamom accents. Palate opens up to Bing cherry, green tea, raspberry and cinnamon.

2012 Edna Valley Pinot Noir

The Edna Valley Vineyard Central Coast Pinot Noir is made to express the varietal characteristics true to Pinot Noir. Aromatically complex, this wine displays nuances of rose petal, cola, earth and black cherry with a full mouthfeel, fine tannins and a long finish.

2010 Louis Jadot Pinot Noir

Louis Jadot Pinot Noir offers a color of medium intensity, purplish in its youth changing to ruby and then garnet after several years in bottle. It is harmonious and balanced, with a plump fruitiness and silky texture offet by round, gentle tannins in a wine of medium body and elegant structure. The very typical fragrant varietal bouquet is complemented by a deliciously lingering finish. The House of Louis Jadot has been producing exceptional Burgundy wines since its founding in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. For the past 150 years Louis Jadot has continued as one of the great names of Burgundy and has gained international reputation for its superb red and white Burgundy wines. Louis Jadot is not only one of the largest producers of estate Burgundies of the Cote d'Or, it is one of the most celebrated exporters of premium Burgundies, owning close to 140 acres of vineyards from 24 of the most prestigious sites in Burgundy.

2012 Layer Cake Pinot Noir

The goal for our Layer Cake wines is to maintain distinct varietal correctness and expression of terroir with whatever wine we make. The Layer Cake Pinot Noir follows the same path, but Pinot Noir is a much more finicky grape. It can be very rewarding, and incredibly challenging, to make a wine that has good extraction, ripe rich flavors, complex yet delicate aromatics and fine balance on the palate. With our Layer Cake Pinot Noir, we’ve achieved that goal and more. Fermented gently at cool temperatures to preserve aromatics, the wine was gently pressed and aged in French oak; partly new, but also much of it in our once-used Cherry Pie barrels. The result is a rich, delicious wine that screams Pinot Noir and fits right into the Layer Cake Wines line up. The Layer Cake Pinot Noir comes to life with aromas of savory herbs, licorice, mint, plums and black cherries. Layered flavors of dark berries, ripe plums and big juicy black cherries wrapped in a glycerol creamy mouthfeel. This is a big Pinot Noir and calls for smoky meats and rich fish…enjoy!

2013 Adesso Nero d'Avola

An intense red filled with ripe fruit flavors of mulberry, plum with tobacco notes complemented by a medium/full body, and a soft, yet persistent, finish. Excellent with pizza, sharp/full-fat cheeses, hearty dishes with tomato sauce as well as roasts and all savory meals.

It is often compared to Syrah because it likes similar growing conditions (Sicily has a hot Mediterranean climate) and exhibits many similar characteristics.

2012 Bartholomew Park Zinfandel

Tasting Notes: Deep, dark color, intense aromas and flavors of red raspberry, black plum and huckleberry, semi-sweet chocolate with a touch of cinnamon, coriander and brown sugar. Lush and round, with the creamy blackberry and blueberry fruit compote flavors lingering through a generous finish. A classic style that is silky, dark and dense yet refined and beautifully balanced. Vineyard Notes: The Estate Vineyard at Bartholomew Park is located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain range in Sonoma Valley. These small unique sections of head-trained Zinfandel vines are planted on the Haraszthy block, on the site where Agoston Haraszthy first planted Zinfandel over 150 years ago. The unrivaled setting of this vineyard, tucked up against Arroyo Seco, enjoys warm temperatures, constant breezes and excellent drainage typical of higher elevation sites. Production Notes: Hand-harvested and fermented with a prepared yeast selection in stainless steel tanks with gentle pump-overs. Barrels stirred weekly through primary and secondary fermentation to build creaminess. Aged in 50% French and 50% American oak barrels, 35% new, for 15 months.
