Virginia Peck graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston with a major in painting . For 10 years Virginia Peck worked as a freelance illustrator for clients such as Reebok, The Boston Globe, Doubleday Books and many others. After her children were grown, in 1997 she once again took up fine art painting. In 2004, after seven years of meditation, yoga and spiritual study, while sitting meditation one morning, the idea struck to paint the face of Buddha. She is still painting the Buddha. Virginia has had numerous solo and two-person shows and has become part of many private collections through several gallery affiliations and the annual alumni sale at the SMFA. She now shows her originals at Newbury Fine Arts in Boston and at her Western Ave. Studios, in Lowell. Some Virginia Peck highlights; she was invited to exhibit her Buddha paintings at Harvard University's Andover Chapel for 6 months in 2009, she was in the book '100 Artists of New England', published in 2011, she had a show at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis in 2010, and she has had a permanent exhibit of her Faces of Buddha prints at the Kripalu Ctr. for Yoga and Health in the Berkshires since 2006.
