Sponsor the Willamette Valey Scholastic Art Awards - A BCHS Education Program.

Sponsorship starts at $300.  Be that special supporter of a museum educational program!

The photographs with this item are of the artwork of past winners.

Bid to become a sponsor for one of the Benton County Museum's premium education and exhibition opportunities for students of fine and literary arts in the Willamette Valley School District.

2015 was the 32nd year of student art shows at this museum and the 6th year of being part of the national Scholastic Art Awards.

The Willamette Valley Scholastic Art Awards is open to fine arts, crafts and literary students grades 7-12 from entire Willamette Valley School District who submit art, to juried competition.  Pictures with this item are of some of the outstanding award wining artwork of past Willamette Valley students and award winners.

Winning students attend an awards ceremony and receive an exhibition at the Benton County Historical Museum.

Winners go on to the National Scholastic Awards competition administered by The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a 90 year-old national program that recognizes outstanding creative teenagers and offers scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors. 

Our talented teenagers follow in the footsteps of Andy Warhol, Richard  Avedon, Robert Redford, Philip Pearlstein, David Salle, Robert Indiana,  Tom Otterness, and Zac Posen, who all won Scholastic Art Awards when they were in high  school.

In 2014 Woodburn senior Alphonso Calixtro earned local and national awards and went on to earn a full scholarship to the Parsons The New School for Design in New York City.  His story was told in the Oregonian in May 2014 http://www.oregonlive.com/education/index.ssf/2014/05/outstanding_woodburn_artist_al.html

Help bring this oppportunity to our talented students again by becoming a sponsor of the Willamette Valley Scholastic Art Awards exhibtion and reception at the Benton County Historical Museum in 2016.

Sponsors receive recognition through Signage in the the Gallery, on the BCHS website, mention in all traditional media and PR materials and on the museum website as well as verbal recognition at the opening of the exhibition at the museum.
